GREEN BEDROOM

Project of bedroom for a young couple located in Prague, specifically in the Žižkov district. This neighborhood is located on the east side of the city center and it historically had a reputation as a rough area. This reputation spread across the whole former Czechoslovakia and it was still possible to trace it amongst the people many decades later. Despite this fact, the Žižkovians were very proud of their bad reputation and their sentiment was very often a source of inspiration for novelists or film makers. After the Velvet Revolution, often in connection with the restitution of houses, reconstruction and rehabilitation of the city began right here in Žižkov. While many houses have since been renovated to the flats with parquet floors and high ceilings, the look of the neighborhood has not changed much.

The objective of this project was to design an urban oasis – cosy & fresh bedroom with a closet room, which will also have enough work space. The bedroom dominates muted shades of green in combination with a large number of house plants. Accessories are made of natural materials brushed bronze finishings & warm yellow, orange and powder pink accessories. The south-facing window provides sufficient natural light. Light shines to the changing room through the luxfer glass used in the partition wall. To the left of the entrance is a work desk and wall shelves for storage of small items.
